Scott’s playing career is littered with accolades. A Melrose local, playing for Melrose RFC, Wight captained the Greenyards team to a magnificent haul of Premier 1, Border League and Melrose Sevens titles, as well as guiding them to the final of the Scottish Cup. Scott played and captained Scotland 7s on the IRB world circuit from 2013-2017 and was captain of the first Scottish Sevens rugby team to win an IRB world circuit event. He was also a member of the first Scottish team to ever beat New Zealand at any level. During this time he was also a commonwealth athlete, taking part in Glasgow 2014. Before then he spent three years playing for Pro14 champions Glasgow Warriors.

Scott has experience coaching Border Under 20s as well as The Scottish Men’s 7s skills coach
The Melrose local says he has a proud association with Melrose Sevens and is thrilled to be talking with a lot of great players from all over the world with a view to getting them to become Co-Optimists.
