The yearly fixture against East Lothian has been a major highlight for many Co-Ops’ players and supporters since its inception in 1924. The first ever Co-Optimists’ fixture continues against the same opposition annually, paying homage to the tradition of The Co-Optimists untouched by the modern era.
The Co-Ops are delighted to welcome coaches Stuart Edwards and Gavin Blackburn, who have selected a strong squad of 23 players representing 14 different clubs around The Scottish Borders. This year’s team will be captained by Stewart Mustard of Heriot’s Blues as they look to battle it out against their traditional rivals in a game that will be both fierce on the pitch, and jovial off of it.
The East Lothian side is made up of representatives from their respective clubs Musselburgh, Preston Lodge, Haddington, Ross High, North Berwick and Dunbar. The venue alternates between the respective clubs each year and this year’s fixture will be at Stoneyhill the home ground of Musselburgh RFC kicking off at 19:15
